When I run out of clean underwear I think about doing the laundry. If it wasn’t for need, I wouldn’t do it nowadays. I am just too tired and sore. Finally I just gathered together everything and made the trek upstairs.
I have to stay with the laundry because there are tales of woe circulated here about laundry thieves. Rhett comes with me so he can watch TV. He might have lasted 10 minutes before he was snoring away.
I spent the time talking to a delightful tenant who was born in Ireland and works at a floral shop. The time passed very quickly.
By the time we got back to the apartment I was weak and burning up. Once everything was hung up or put away, I was soaked in sweat…or should I say drenched and dripping? As soon as I sat in my comfy chair, I was icy.
Soon I gave up and went to bed. Rhett said I felt like a furnace all night long. I remember moving the CPAP mask in my sleep to dry off. It was a tough night, all feverish and with no codeine.
Today we spent the morning waiting for someone who never showed up. I will never understand that behavior. I like visitors…I like this person, but I HATE being told someone is coming who never shows up!!! I have stressed out day after day after day waiting. Usually there’s no explanation what happened. You know who you are. You are welcome here any time, but I will NEVER sit around and wait again!!!! I can’t take a nap, I can’t see a doc, I can’t go shopping, etc., etc. I just sit there waiting and fuming. Grrrrrr….
To try to take my mind off of waiting for someone who doesn’t show up, I decided to go to the very nearby pharmacy, Deseret Industries and grocery store. I figured if they really showed up, we could be back in a flash.
I got a call saying my meds were ready for pickup, but I did not have the $6 copay. I took my bag of pennies, nickles and dimes to the Coinstar machine and got $6.26. Whew!
Since I had $20 in rolled quarters and the laundry was done, I decided to use that to go to the thrift store. YES!!! Score! For the first time there was a working $10 microwave. I also got a cake pan and cupcake pan from Wilton for a buck each. No name on the bread pan, but it’s a nice heavy duty one for $1. Got a 6-holer cupcake pan and an insulated cookie sheet also for a dollar each. Excellent haul thanks to my unspent laundry quarters. I was hoping to find better stuff near the end of the month…and there it was 🙂
My legs and feet are even more swollen…and I am now getting seriously out of breath no matter what I do. I am drowning in fluid like the old days 😦
Snicker..didn’t realize I had the apron caught on the headphones until I saw the pic. Popcorn made Rhett sleepy.
I DID want to go for a short drive to look around at the mountain foliage, but by the time I dragged in stuff, I was too tired. I made popcorn in a paper bag for Rhett and he went to take a nap. I would like to…but I hurt too much.
