Something bad was going on with my throat. I was both choking and just not getting air. So…..I am back awake. I awoke to find more than 80 emails. Most were about what people looked like before and after WNV. In my case, I looked a heck of a lot better on a low carb diet, while getting regular IVIg. After the ravages of WNV, 2 belly operations, untreated MG, all my abdominal problems, a failed marriage and all that has happened to me, I have aged exponentially in the approximately three years between these pictures. See for yourselves.
I look even worse tonight. Pretty soon my face will have drooped so much that it really does slide off. And my broken voice adds a nice touch. Sigh…..
I got in bed about 7:30. Everything hurt. I decided to watch one more video before canceling my free-so-far membership to Netflix. When I canceled, it says I can still watch Netflix until February 1st. I didn’t watch all that many videos in a month. Tonight I gazed at 180 degrees South. Since I can’t climb and hike and sail and surf, it’s nice to be able to at least watch somebody else go on adventures.
Now it’s morning. I just watched a video about “brain flooding”. It EXACTLY feels like what WNV did to me. I described it as every TV and radio staion going at once. I have discovered the same steps they give to minimize it over time. A guy on my WNV list posted this while we were talking about how our brains feel. Besides the lack of air and too many fragrances at church, this is also part of going and sitting in a crowded place. On a good day, I can dart in to a store and leave, but sitting still in a closed room is almost unbearable.
I am soooooooooooo looking forward to IVIg. I have to admit to some trepidation, too. I got real sick from IVIg when given the 5 day long loading dose. I hope that doesn’t happen again. Once I get regular IVIg every 3 or 4 weeks, I seem to get better and more stable with each infusion.
I said one whole sentence today before my voice was broken again 🙂 I think there’s something kinda new wrong with my throat. It feels like something is growing in there. 3 weeks until the ENT/voice doc sees me.
ARGH! There is a thing on TV about the medical effects of SLC air pollution. The doc says it decreases brain function. Sigh…..I am so not getting smarter in Utah…..
