My anemia is pretty bad. I think that’s why I have been craving meat so much. I spent more on meat this food stamp month than I have in a long time. I just figured it out. $32.39 for beef, pork and chicken. I am still hungry for meat, but ate it all. My food month goes from the 15th to the 15th. I spent all my money by March 30th.
My next biggest expense was dairy at $22.45. I bought yogurt, kefir and cheeses.
Thanks to Food Not Bombs, I only spent $14.18 on veggies…tomatoes, avocados, jalapenos, zucchini, chiles and mushrooms. $8.62 for fruit…grapes, bananas, mangos and cherries.
$5.99 coconut oil, 2 cans coconut water .99 each, 12 packages Ramen noodles for $2.50, hominy $2.99, Sriracha bbq sauce $2.99, mole $1.99, pickles $3.49 and 2 dozen jumbo eggs $2.49 each.
$101 doesn’t go very far.
I didn’t go to FNB Saturday because I was watching conference. I won’t be able to go next week because I have doctor appointments. It’s going to be a long couple of weeks.
I am just whining because I cannot eat what I am hungry for. I am not going to starve to death. I have plenty of food. At least I am not eating mice or grasshoppers, like some cultures do. I am actually quite blessed.
Well, it’s Easter. Easter is a day of immense hope. Christ died and on the third day, he was resurrected. He came to earth to get a mortal body and spend his years doing his Father’s will. He loved people, often the people least loved by the world. He was persecuted by many. He took on our afflictions and understands what we go through. Some were drawn to his teachings and actions, others wanted him to be somebody else. He was betrayed, he gave up his life, then took it up again so that we might all live for eternity with our Father in heaven. He broke the bonds of death so that all of us can be resurrected. What we do with that great gift is up to us.
I honestly don’t know how people live without this sure knowledge and hope. I am on earth to learn. I obviously have a lot to learn! I am still here.
Here’s something from Mormon.org that says it all…..
Have you ever thought there must be something more to life than just living day to day? There is—much more. Your life has a divine purpose.
God, your Heavenly Father, has prepared a marvelous plan for your happiness. When you realize that God has a plan for you, it is easier to understand why you are on this earth. God wants all of His children to progress and become more like Him. This time on Earth provides opportunities for you to grow and progress. Coming here allows you to:
- Receive a physical body.
- Exercise agency and learn to choose between good and evil.
- Learn and gain experience that will help you become more like your Heavenly Father.
- Form family relationships that may become eternal.
By following our Heavenly Father’s plan, you—like all of His children—can someday return to live with Him and with your loved ones. You can have greater peace in this life and eternal joy in the life to come.
My belly hurts, my body is a wreck, but I am still here!
I started watching the second session of General Conference today and my ears were ringing so loud, that it was hard to hear the speakers. I could feel the sensation of my eyes rolling back in my head as I got wicked bad sleepy. It happened fast. Got in bed, remember petting Olive and that was it, I woke up 3.5 hours later because my breathing was catching. Yup….late for meds.
Thank goodness for the internet. I can go back and find out at what point I zoned out and watch what I missed. First I need to wait for my meds to kick in. My vision is all double and blurry. I am still struggling to breathe. Well, I almost made it to the end. Eight hours of paying attention over two days is a lot for me.
I like the “Cliff notes” version…
